Our Project Director, Katerina, joined The Designed Life Podcast to talk with the hosts about the power of collaboration and how to deliver the best outcomes for clients. They talk about the benefits of working alongside other designers to overcome challenges effectively. Having all the designers on the team from the start creates a holistic design of the space instead of it being a combination of parts. “It’s like a Venn diagram, we have our part, the interior designers have their part, but quite a bit overlaps. The challenge is how to work together on the parts that overlap. In the best collaborations we establish right from the beginning who is doing what and work together with mutual respect” – Katerina Spetsiou, Project Director at Scenario Architecture Katerina continues to share the process taken by Scenario Architecture which is about truly understanding the lifestyle, habits and dreams of the client, and designing a brief based upon how they want to interact with the spaces. “We really try to understand their ideal scenario - how do they dream of living in this home? We interview them and find out how they live their lives and then from that we develop the brief, and then we start to map it all out to really understand how the spaces interact” – Katerina Spetsiou They continue to discuss the importance of putting the client in the centre and finding ways to make the dreams of the client a reality, whilst balancing expectations and budgets.
