David Rieser
BSc Dip Arch Architect ARB - Designer
David began his studies at the Bartlett before completing his Diploma at London Metropolitan University. During this Diploma he was the Student Team Leader and lead designer on a live project, SunBloc, an experimental house hotwire cut from polystyrene and inspired by a Scenario installation. This was awarded the RIBA Silver Medal in 2012.
He has a wide range of experience across several sectors including, retail, hotel, leisure, hospitality and high end residential. Some projects he has worked on include, a large mixed-use development in the City of London, the facade of a restaurant and cinema complex in Southampton and a feature staircase in the atrium of Jean Nouvel’s One New Change. Slightly more unusually he was involved in the design of a cruise ship for Virgin’s latest venture.
David joined Scenario in May 2017 as a member of the design team. He has a particular specialism in complex three-dimensional modelling in Rhino and Grasshopper. These tools have the potential to deliver innovative and unique designs by providing a direct link to technology and fabrication techniques. In this way, the full potential of materials can be explored, resulting in inventive, bespoke designs.
