Rear extension of 3 Grade-II Listed buildings and conversion from offices to residential
Appointed for full architectural and structural services to provide 20 1-bed and 2-bed units in 3 Grade-II listed buildings on a pedestrian street in the centre of Reading. Challenging scheme to provide additional floorspace in the form of contemporary rear glazed extensions and private amenity space in a busy central location where open space is limited, and to provide adequately sized units to surpass the micro-flat typology prominent in the new developments in the area. Working closely with the council to provide an exemplary point of reference for future developments in order to provide contemporary additions to listed buildings using the full sites potential while respecting the historical nature of the buildings.
