2017 marks the ten year anniversary of Scenario Architecture, to commemorate this we have created a timeline showing our most notable work to date. We are currently holding an exhibition at the DreamSpace Gallery from 2nd June – 16th June you can find all the details here. We have also created a short blog post for each year, commencing with our origins in 2007.
Scenario Architecture began in 2007, in the midst of a recession with a simple desk from IKEA. We had plans of becoming our own and building something from nothing. We were searching for clients and striving to build beautiful designs with a small budget. We experimented with stimulating activities, creating a space from a solid form and living life in the solid space.
The Foam House was one of our first projects. The concept behind this project focused on the questions: How can we take away rather than put together? Can the forces of life generate a space?
Our starting point was a solid Block of expanded polystyrene foam. Daily habitation scenarios performed by a dweller, were treated as natural eroding forces, gradually generating a sequence of spaces inside of the solid block. The result was a speculation of space.
Take a look at our 10 Year Anniversary Timeline.
